Anthill is all about entrepreneus and exciting growth strategies. The “Cool Company Awards” reward outstanding business achievement. They also have a “30 Under 30 Award” which encourages and awards young entrepreneurs. The Smart 100 Awards is an on-going ranking system to highlight the best products to come out of Australia. Applications open in early Feb with the deadline for closure normally the end of August. Winners are announced at the end of April.

Australian Achiever Awards

Australian Achiever Awards

This is a customer service based award and covers virtually every industry with a customer facing approach. Closing dates for each year varies depending on your industry, as does the allocation of the award. Businesses are given a percentage rating and the highest each year is given a “winner” status.

Australian Business AwardsAustralian Business Awards

The Australian Business Awards claim to be the country’s premier awards covering the full range of business excellence: Innovation, Enterprise, Project Management, eBusiness and Environment. All businesses are eligible providing they can fulfil the criteria. Awards are presented in the first week of July every year. The ABA also have associated Charity Awards for registered charities and awards for products.

Australian Customer Service AwardsAustralian Customer Service Awards

These awards are open to everyone so long as they can point to the happiness of their customers. You can either nominate yourself or nominate somebody else and the application is relatively straightforward. There are no cut off dates or ceremonies as the awards are on-going. Customer feedback is analysed through independent methods and companies rewarded according to the results.

Australian Export AwardsAustralian Export Awards

These awards are for Australian businesses and their results in export markets. If you have a successful international market you could be eligible. There are a wide range of awards available covering most areas of the modern market. Winners of regional and national awards are announced through September and October every year.

Australian Small Business Champion AwardsAustralian Small Business Champion Awards

These awards are for manufacturing businesses with 100 or fewer employees, and for retail or service businesses with 40 or fewer employees. Competition opens in mid-December every year, closes in late February and stages of selection are announced on the web until the winners are announced at the end of April.

Australian SME Business Awards

Since 2006, the Australian SME Business Awards has recognised and rewarded more than 1,800 small and medium-sized businesses in the national Business Awards Program. Business owners and managers can nominate themselves by completing the Nomination Form and addressing the Award Criteria. SME Businesses can also earn immediate recognition upon approval as a Highly Recommended Business, as they move toward the end-of-year awards, when the organisation announces all Award Category Winners and the Australia SME Business of the Year Award Winner.

BEC AwardsBEC (Business Enterprise Centres) Australia Awards

Businesses cannot apply directly for these awards but must be recommended by clients through the BEC Australia website. Awards are given regionally, for metropolitan areas and for Best Business Mentor. There are also a set of small business awards for start-ups, micro businesses and home-based businesses. Nominations close mid-August. Award date has yet been set.

CeBIT.AU Awards

CeBIT.AU Business Awards

These awards relate specifically to those in the ICT industry and take place every year at the exhibition. It is a smaller award with just four distinct categories relating to innovation, service distinction, projects and business solutions.

Ernst Young Entrepreneur AwardsErnst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards

Ernst & Young is considered amongst the most prestigious awards around the globe for its recognition of individual business talent. It has four competitive categories: Emerging business, Industry, Services and Technology; it also has three nominated categories: Listed, Social Entrepreneur and Champion of Entrepreneurship. Nominees are listed in May every year and final awards are allocated in November.

Fairtrade AwardsFairtrade Business Awards

Fairtrade seeks to redress the problem with underpaid workers on farms that produce luxuries such as coffee and cocoa. These awards recognise businesses that have made a significant contribution to the Fairtrade cause. The four categories are: Café of the Year, Retailier of the Year, Speciality Retailer of the Year and Product of the Year. Annual awards are judged from May and presented during Fairtrade week in July.

Family Business Australia AwardsFamily Business Australia Awards

Eligibility is strictly examined to ensure that your business complies with the organisation's core family run philosophy. There are four awards: Entrepreneurship, Next Generation (emerging talent), the Hall of Fame for outstanding working lifetime achievement and the Distinguished Family Business which recognises that business which has upheld the philosophy the most.

MyBusiness AwardsMyBusiness Awards

These awards are open to any registered business regardless of size. They have a wide range of the typical awards but also take a slightly different approach with a few “fun” awards in categories such as novelty and creativity. Entries close in mid-August each year with awards presented in mid-September.

Smart Company AwardsSmart Company Awards

This award is specifically for independent Australian companies and non-Australian subsidiaries of international companies. There are a range of awards and these are given on examination of financial records – revenue must be between $0.5m and $200m with profit recorded over three years. The ceremony takes place in the first week of September every year.

Telstra Business AwardsTelstra Business Awards

Telstra rewards innovation and entrepreneurship across Australia and it is an award that involves the whole team due to the thorough and co-operative nature of the application process. There is no limit to the size of your business. Awards open in February every year with awards presented in July. Winners receive a gala awards dinner in August every year.
